This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Humphreys Peak stands at 12,633 feet and is the highest point in the Kachina Peaks Wilderness, as well as the state of Arizona. It has one of the most scenic viewpoints in the San Francisco Peaks, and on a clear day, hikers can see the Grand Canyon from the summit. This strenuous rocky trail has over 3,000 feet of elevation gain. Humphreys Trail is open year-round, but snowy conditions can increase the difficulty.
