This loop trail has a nice amount of variety, with shaded forest areas, exposed open meadows, switchbacks and 7 stream crossings. The trail itself varies from mostly single track to a section of wide path to a very narrow stretch with steep drop offs to one side.

The Hotshots Trail takes you through the Weaver Mountains and includes a 1,200 ft. elevation gain with a 5-8 percent grade. As you make your way, you will encounter 200+ stairs carved from the surrounding rock, interpretive signs, benches and 19 memorial plaques.

Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 6 h to complete. This is a popular trail for backpacking, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

The Gateway to Tom’s Thumb Loop is an extremely challenging, 12-mile loop that includes East End, Windgate Pass, Tom’s Thumb trails and Bell Pass with many very steep and loose sections and three major climbs.

Mesquite Trail (upper) to Goat Camp Trail is roughly 12 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Waddell, Arizona that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers.

Black Canyon Trail: Rock Springs to W Care Free Highway is a 30.6 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Black Canyon City, Arizona that features a river and is rated as moderate.

White Tanks Library to Mesquite Trail (lower) to Goat Camp Trail is roughly 18 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Waddell, Arizona that features beautiful wild flowers and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers.
