Microbiome Health: Gut Health is the Hidden Key to Wellness

Gut health is one of the most important health components of your body. It helps control your immune system which in turn helps you fight off diseases. It can regulate fiber intake, weight gain/loss, heart health, and a variety of other things.

So how can you improve it? Eating yogurt, or fermented foods which contain live bacteria can reduce the bad bacteria that reside in your gut. Another way is to eat a diverse range of foods to help expose yourself to different and new bacteria. Lastly, try eating more whole grains or switching to a plant-based diet. More grains equals more beneficial carbs and fibers while plant-based diets are shown to reduce even more bad bacteria.

Next time breakfast rolls around, grab that yogurt from the fridge. Your gut (and body) will thank you!
